    Real Life

    With Pastor Steve

The positive impact of adoption changes the course of someone’s life.  A forever family … a place at the table … secure and loved … a hopeful future.

Now, yes, in reality … the process and even the journey of adoption can have it’s ups and downs.  There are moments of absolute joy … healing … mixed with moments of sorrow and heartache.  After adopting 4 children, to add to our one biological child, my wife & I know the rewards and the fulfillment far outweigh any of the fears. Three of our 5 kids are adults, and one is almost there.  Family is greater than blood.  There is a bond of connection and love that extends beyond race, color, and heritage.  Our family is not perfect, but as we look into the future for our kids… we see what could have been without adoption (for them and us).  And we see what lies ahead, and what is now possible because of adoption (for them and us).

Well, in the same way… that’s the state every human is in when it comes to God’s kingdom.  And it’s His desire, through Christ, to “adopt” as many as will come.  Restored.  Given a family.  Made up of all races, tongues, tribes and nations.  Given a secure future.  And no… this new family is not perfect.   But because of this new identity… there is so much more that lies ahead and is now possible. Join us this Sunday as our guest speaker, Kim Swenson, shares more on that topic!  And that’s … real life. ~Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
