   We all need people like that in our lives.  And we need to be that kind of person in the lives of others.  It’s the way of Jesus.   Life can be tough, tear you down.  We see people all around us … from politicians to talk show hosts … to people in our workplace … maybe even your own family… that seem to have no trouble in tearing people down.  “Builds character they say,” when in reality, their ability to blatantly verbally destroy people shows a complete lack of character.  It’s time to stop the nonsense, the name-calling, the childish behavior, and relearn civility. It is so refreshing to hear a kind word… an uplifting word… a helpful comment … a thank you … something that truly encourages you.  And it is even more refreshing to surround yourself with those kind of people.  I am fortunate to have many of those kind of people around me.  One such person, Kim Swenson, has been a source of encouragement now for over a year and a half.  He does so simply in our conversations, and through his wisdom.  And he often speaks on Sundays to give me a break from time to time, encouraging me to be refreshed.  This Sunday, he will be our speaker once again.  And like me, may you… be encouraged!  And that’s … real life. ~ Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
