Whatever happened to the baby Jesus?
As we come to the time of year when the entire world pauses to celebrate the arrival of Jesus into this world… it seems like many throughout the year kind of leave Jesus frozen in time. As a baby. Baby Jesus is cute… there’s animals and hay and swaddling clothes. Everyone likes to celebrate a baby. Babies are not a threat.
But the birth of the Messiah is simply part of an ongoing story… a story that began in eternity past… goes through the fall of man, the calling of Israel… then the selection of Mary as His mother. But it did not stop there… it continued on into a ministry that fully revealed God’s heart for the world and for humanity. The Advent of Jesus is the good news that love came as a baby… grew up… died on a cross… rose again… for you. To reverse the curse, to offer redemption, restoration, forgiveness, new life. That’s why He came in the first place… His love… for you.
See, this Jesus has been pretty busy since He was a baby… that’s the joy of Christmas! Come join us this Sunday as we celebrate the Advent of Love! And that’s … real life. ~Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
