Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf of springtime. ~ Martin Luther
It’s a week after Easter… but the fruit of the resurrection lives on. The Apostle Peter called it our “Living Hope.” Spring is an annual reminder, and a very simple foretaste, that nothing will stay dead or dormant forever. That’s not to equate winter with death, or something bad (although there are some who may hold to that! LOL). However, even those who love winter grow a little weary of it after 6 or 7 months. Which is why there is a bit of a longing for Spring… for warmth… for flowers and leafy trees and unfrozen lakes and green grass. For the sounds of birds and loons and ducks. New life. New beginnings. A picture and foretaste of resurrection.
See, as our “Living Hope,” Jesus brings His life to us now… giving us the opportunity for fresh starts, a total heart transformation, and new beginnings. And all of that gives us even more hope for what lies ahead. The promise of our own resurrection, the promise of this world being resurrected, renewed. So, if it feels like winter in your life, hold on, spring is coming. The reality of the resurrection of Jesus, made alive in you! And that’s … real life. ~ Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
