“Easter says you can put truth in a grave, but it won't stay there.” ~ Clarence W. Hall, author

       It’s Good Friday… a day of reflection… a day of remembrance… and a day of joy.

It is a good Friday.   The cosmic battle of the ages took place on a wooden cross.

On one side… sin and death… a formidable foe.  On the other side… the one who spoke the very world into existence… the King of Kings… the Messiah… Jesus Christ.

The stakes?  The very souls of mankind… their eternal destinies… and their existence here on this earth.

Sin and death were merciless on their opponent – leaving Him with wounds all over His body, with holes in hands and feet.

At the end of violent battle, right before he died, Jesus said… “It… is… finished.”

From the casual bystander, it would have appeared that this Jesus had lost, that sin and death had conquered.

But that statement was a statement of victory… victory that was recognized three days later… victory known as the resurrection.

Yes… death put truth in the grave… but Jesus didn’t stay there.  Celebrate the risen Lord this Sunday!    And that’s … real life. ~ Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
