Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; seek Him in all you do, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust… it’s a simple word… but it can be oh so difficult, can’t it? Trusting others… trusting God… trust requires a bit of vulnerability. For many of us, once you have been burned, we are far less likely to feel comfortable trusting again. And for many of us, our trust-issues with God stem from some strange or bad experience we had earlier in our lives. I’ve been there… I completely understand. And yet, the only way our paths can be made straight… the only way we receive His wisdom on what path to take… and how to truly live … is by trusting God with all of our hearts. See, we all want wisdom… we all need discernment … but many of us are reluctant to trust God in order to receive it. When in reality, our trust issues are not really with God… they are with a bad religious experience. So, in this season of thanksgiving… would you look beyond a poor picture that has been portrayed… and begin to trust again in the Almighty God, maker of Heaven and Earth, or as Jesus called him… Our Father. And may that trust, give you an even greater heart… of thankfulness and gratitude! Come here Pastor Kim Swenson this Sunday as he expounds on this topic of “trust.” And that’s … real life. ~Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
