“Oh to dwell in heaven with the saints above, that will be glory…but to dwell on earth with the saints below… well, that’s another story.”

    I mean, there is some truth to that, if we are being honest, right?  Life in heaven will be free from conflict, no arguing, no sin or any repercussions of sin.  But here… on this side of eternity in this broken world… to achieve any assemblance of unity… even unity in Christ… it takes a lot of work.  It takes a lot of humility, a lot of forgiveness, a lot of asking for forgiveness.  It truly is another story.  However, the common denominator in both cases… is that the people of God… the followers of Jesus… are still saints.  That is life altering when you truly understand that.  Luke, the author of the book of Acts, is one of the first to call the followers of Jesus, “saints.”  The Apostle Paul would address his letters to the “saints” at various locations, including the Corinthians!   That’s because a saint… is not based upon what you do … or don’t do, or who has done something special or miraculous.  Not even close.  A saint is simply one of God’s people… a follower of Jesus.  It is a relational designation, given to everyone who knows Jesus. Family. Like son, or daughter, connected to their Father… who loves you.
